This was all so accurate. Every single one you mentioned I was just like yep. All so awful moments. Ugh but the paper covers rock. How terrible. Still love SATC, but there’s a reason Samantha is my favorite.
Your takes never miss when it comes to sex in the city! And I will never forget the frustrations I feel when Carrie expects her friends to be there for her and she doesn’t do the same- her ditching Miranda for Big always upset me for her. That callout was so justified!
“Most repressed sex columnist of all time” 😂 is also how I viewed Carrie. I love her life though, independent with her own apartment, cute outfits, and regular brunch with besties just off writing one column a week?! My dream life
Loved this! I do think newer watchers do forget that without this insufferable messy bitch, the show wouldn’t be half as fun! Characters are there to add DRAMA!
If you haven’t checked it out already you will also love Sentimental Garbage’s series on this: Sentimental In the City - they also breakdown Carrie’s suckiness in the Charlotte / money episode!
I’m with you! I have listened to a few of the Sentimental Garbage SATC episodes because I like Dolly Alderton but I need to revisit them and listen to the rest.
Well, Carrie is an It girl so all of this comes with the territory. And don't her flaws make her more human anyway? PS I also LOVE Hannah. I would like to think I keep it together on the outside, but inside of my head, I am Hannah. With the taste in men to prove it.
When she wanted the $$ from Charlotte—that storyline was so cringe. She showed herself to be so selfish. Sure, she was in a bind but hell, stop spending money on shoes!!
In the movies and in AJLT, her character has continued apace. 20 years and it’s still all about her.
I started a rewatch recently and he has his issues, but the first couple of breakups were her leaving him because he didn’t want to rush into her meeting his mother and because he didn’t tell her about possibly moving to Paris for a few months, which he told her he wouldn’t know for sure until after the business trip he was going on. She wanted him to move at her pace or else she was out and it was frustrating
I feel the most egregious crime was how she treated Stanford. He’s so loveable and funny, he deserved a better BFF.

she's a girls' girl except for basically any time she's got a guy
so true. But aren’t all of us horrible sometimes? Maybe it’s actually more realistic this way.

totally!
Carrie is so hard to watch sometimes but I can’t help but he charmed by her!
I think current Carrie is a little wiser and more chilled out, but wow she was horrible. Still a great show!
So rewatchable!

The paper covers rock always sticks with me, imagine being that self-centered omg omg. Also watched the Big affair the other week and the AUDACITY.

she's worse than ever in AJLT :(
Love it ! Spot on my girl 🥰
I always believed most of anything that went wrong with Big was kind of her fault anyway!

Exactly! Ambushing him and his mom, pressuring him about his career, she had crazy written all over her
idk, i kind of can't stand him!
