Literally laugh aloud at so many of these I had forgotten or never seen. Also that Rihanna tweet was SO funny, but I love to see she and Ciara made up!

Bebe is a singer-songwriter she actually wrote Rihanna's "Monster". she has this really unique voice and was subjected to being ignored and uncredited for a long time, i guess Hollywood said "we already have Rita Ora that's our former Yugoslavia quota filled". she is talented but occasionally makes terrible decisions like that annoying "I'm Good" song that rips off Daft Punk. she can play multiple instruments and use ProBeats. she did well with 2015's "Hey Mama" ft Nicki and Afrojack. I think her hit Me Myself & I with G-Easy really shows off her vocal range. i think her allegations against a certain well-known producer for sexual harassment in 2019 has contributed to her not being given the recognition she deserves.

thank you for this primer! i remember when Britney performed Me Myself & I with G-Eazy and didn’t realize it was Bebe’s. the music industry is disgusting, I’m rooting for her.

i was absolutely horrified when i saw the things Warner did to her. that is way beyond cruel, that was sadistic. i thought for a while this is going to be another “Free Kesha” event. What kind of bullshit is it where labels continually put their talent in dangerous positions to meet with known predators or even represent them? i hope she drags them for fucking filth someday. if every undervalued songwriter who has been denied credits refused to write hits or do guest vocals for chart topping stars, they’d be in shambles. Tulisa and Bebe come to mind. Tulisa wasn't even credited for Scream & Shout with will.i-am and Britney!

I’d like to point out that while Rita Ora and Bebe Rexha both have familial links to the former Yugoslavia, they’re ethically Albanian, which seems an oddly *over*represented demographic in pop music - Ava Max and Dua Lipa are also Albanian. I always think it’s funny to lump rapper Action Bronson in with the “Albanian pop girlies” too but he’s definitely a non-central example.

These are all so good, I can’t wait to incorporate “mama let’s research” into my job, which includes actual research. My favorite celebrity social media moment was when Dean Norris (Hank in Breaking Bad) just tweeted out “sex gifs”
